Tutorials on serial application performance tuning plus an introduction into Distributed Memory Parallelization using the Message Passing Interface (MPI). Through hands-on lab sessions participants have the opportunity to try things out themselves.

Thursday March 16 and Friday March 17
The workshop continues with a focus on shared memory parallelization. An extensive introduction into parallelization, automatic parallelization an overview of OpenMP and several cases studies are presented.
Includes an in depth introduction into the ParaWise toolkit, a software tool for the automatic parallelization of "real-world" serial Fortran codes, given by experts from Parallel Software Products Inc.(PSP). Also in this block participants have the opportunity to try things out themselves in the lab sessions.
